Cupping Therapy


Myofascial decompression (MFD), more commonly referred to a Cupping, is a traditional Chinese therapy that has been adapted to the field of Sports Medicine. Suction cup therapy has been found to benefit people who suffer from chronic soft tissue injury or inflammation, such as myofascial pain syndrome. Your physical therapist may also recommend cupping for a variety of other conditions including: Arthritis, Neck & Low Back Pain & Fibromyalgia.
Note that cupping therapy may leave discolored marks on the surface of your skin that can remain for up to two weeks.


Kinesio Tapping

Kinesio Taping (also known as “KT Taping”) can be used as an adjunctive treatment for any patient with mechanical pain, but works particularly well with overuse injuries. Kinesio Taping used for following conditions:

  • Shin splints
  • Tendonitis
  • To reinforce posture
  • Edema control (swelling)
  • Muscle pain

Instrument Associated Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)


Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) is an effective manual therapy treatment to help relieve pain from soft-tissue injuries. Physical therapists use specially designed tools to help remodel scar tissue, increase range of motion and decrease pain.
